As the summer begins to wane and schools slowly rumble to life, it’s once again time for Spokane’s annual SpokeFest Park Loop and Bike Safety Rodeo, a one mile bike ride set against the scenic backdrop of Riverfront Park and the tranquil banks of the Spokane River. Through strong community support, SpokeFest continues to empower families and children to become active in cycling.Park Loop Raffle bike

This Fall, the Bike Rodeo will introduce beginning cyclists to the basics of
bicycle safety and rules of the road. Utilizing a SpokeFest passport, cyclists are encouraged to stop at various stations along the ride where they will learn to navigate obstacles, operate in challenging situations, and learn to signal their intentions to other bicyclists.

The Park Loop and Bike Rodeo is not a race, it is so much more. It’s a family bonding experience and bicycle safety clinic rolled into one. We take the concept of the rodeo and liberate it from the traditional confines of a parking lot. In so doing, we allow beginning cyclists to demonstrate and learn skills for handling bikes through various obstacle courses and stations. From all of us at SpokeFest, we look forward to seeing you this September 7th in Riverfront Park.

Spokane Bikes promoting bicycle commuting for better lifestyle and environment.
